Somewhere on Long Island tonight, somebody is asking a friend, "you got a good house cleaner?"
The only question that matters is whether anyone in that conversation knows your name. BNI Coastal Connections meets every Tuesday evening for exactly one purpose: to put each other's names in the mouths of people who are ready to buy. One seat per industry. While you hold yours, nobody in your field can take it.

What's Happening in the Room
Member features, upcoming events, and chapter news — updated by leadership as the week changes. New here? Scroll the hub below, then register for a visit.
See something that fits? Register for a visit and someone from leadership will reach out before the meeting.
Ten minutes on the phone first. Then decide about the meeting.
You already know what a networking event is worth. This isn't one.
You've done the mixer. Paid for the ticket, worked the room, shook forty hands, came home with eleven business cards and a cold chicken dinner. Two people called. Neither one bought.
That's what most business owners mean by networking, and it's exactly why the good ones stopped doing it.
Here's what's different about a Tuesday with us. Nobody in this room is just thinking about selling you things — we're all working together to drive qualified referrals and share business together. We give, before we gain; that's our motto.
We call you first.
Before you give up a single evening, someone from leadership gets you on the phone for ten minutes. What you do. Who your best customer looks like. Whether your seat is even open. If it isn't, you'll know before it ever hits your calendar.
You show up, and mostly you listen.
Members give a sixty-second rundown of their business. One member presents for ten. You get sixty seconds too, if you want them. Get ready to pick up public speaking and presentation skills!
You watch work change hands.
This is the part that changes minds. Not talk about referrals — actual business, with a name and a phone number and a job attached, passed across the table while you sit there.
Then you decide. Or you don't.
Nobody will chase you. If we don't think it's a fit, we'll tell you before you tell us. And if it is, you'll get the real numbers — what it costs in dues and what it costs in Tuesdays — before anyone asks you to sign a thing.
Under a minute to register. Someone from leadership calls you before the meeting. No pitch, no obligation.
Find your industry below. If it's there, you're too late.
Each member holds a specific category — one seat per specialty. A kitchen remodeler, a roofer, and a siding company can share a table; two kitchen remodelers cannot. For as long as someone holds that seat, every referral in that exact category goes to them alone.
Look for yours. Most people don't find it. That's the good news.

We'll confirm before you spend an evening on us.
The uncomfortable part is the part that works.
Attendance is taken. Referrals are logged. Members who stop showing up stop being members. That sounds harsh right up until you've sat in a group where nobody's held to anything and watched the referrals dry up by March. Our leadership team volunteers for the job of making sure that doesn't happen here.

Nobody invented this over coffee.
Coastal Connections is a chartered chapter of BNI — the largest business referral organization on earth, running in 70+ countries for forty years. Two regional directors train our leadership, audit our standards, and open doors well past Long Island. We didn't design the machine. We just run it, on Tuesdays, in East Islip.

Reading about it does nothing. Sitting in it does.
Member presentations, visitor days, chapter socials. Guests are welcome at every one of them. Pick a date that works and we'll call you before it.
We want to hear about your business.
Every month we sit down with one local Long Island business owner and let them talk about the thing they're actually good at.
It's a 30-minute virtual interview, no prep, no pitch — we ask the questions.
You get a written feature on our site and a video we both post. No cost, no obligation to join anything.
A guest feature on our blog — written up properly, yours to share, ranks for your name and your trade.
A shared video interview — posted to both our audiences, you keep the raw file.
An introduction, not a pitch — you'll meet the room. Whether that goes anywhere is up to you.
One business a month. A person reads every application.
We're especially looking for these trades.
These categories have nobody in them right now, so if this is your trade, we have room to talk. Not on the list? Apply anyway — we'll tell you straight.
One professional per category. We confirm your category is open before we schedule anything.
